Funding and calls

Belmont Forum and Future Earth: Future Earth invites contributions to research priorities and recommendations on human migration and global change by 14 August. Future Earth and the Belmont Forum have developed a preliminary synthesis document on research priorities for Human Migration and Global Change. Feedback from institutions and individuals will be incorporated into a final version of the document, which will then serve as input to a Belmont Forum scoping process for a future Collaborative Research Action (often involving a call for proposals). See the invitation to provide feedback and view other Belmont Forum funding opportunities.

Call for paper(s): The T2S team are looking for authors interested in addressing an aspect or aspects of social transformation in relation to ‘frameworks and models to capture social-ecological interactions – resilience and complexity’, to fit into a special issue of the journal Current Opinion on Environmental Sustainability (COSUST) on that topic. The special issue is due for publication in August 2020, with a paper deadline of December 2019. The paper(s) would also form part of a virtual special issue of COSUST on the ‘State of knowledge on social transformation’. A possible angle for a paper could be ‘trade-offs and conflicts in integrative approaches to management of social-ecological systems for sustainability’, but other ideas are welcome. Please contact Sarah Moore for more information or to make a proposal.

Call for abstracts: Co-developed and co-implemented: Advancing transdisciplinary approaches to global change challenges. This session at the 2019 American Geophysical Union Fall meeting is convened by Erica Key of the Belmont Forum. Abstracts for the session are now being accepted.
