Researchers from the T2S programme will organize a roundtable at the forthcoming national meeting of Anppas (Asociação Nacional de Pós-graduação e Pesquisa em Ambiente e Sociedade), “X Encontro da Asociação Nacional de Pós-graduação e Pesquisa em Ambiente e Sociedade”, taking place in Campinas, São Paulo, from 5-8 October 2021.
The roundtable aims to discuss the variety of narratives related to sustainability, the influence of different actors in this debate, and social organization as a starting point for emerging transformative alternatives in the three transnational T2S projects with a base in Brazil: “Amazonian Governance to Enable Transformations to Sustainability ” (AGENTS), “Towards Convivial Conservation: Governing Human-Wildlife Interactions in the Anthropocene” (CON-VIVA), and “Sustainability Transformations in Artisanal and Small-scale Gold Mining” (Gold Matters). From the research results of the three projects, theoretical-methodological challenges, and possibilities for the construction of knowledge for the transformation towards sustainability will be discussed.
