The Sussex Sustainability Research Programme (SSRP) – a joint initiative between the University of Sussex and the Institute of Development Studies – will be hosting the ‘Evidence for Action: Aligning the Climate and SDG Agendas’ Symposium from 20-22 July 2021.
This online international symposium will revolve around the question of how the urgently needed transformative reforms for tackling climate change and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals can be governed during and after a global pandemic. It will address the question whether it is possible to coordinate and align the Climate and SDG Agendas or whether they must compete for scarce resources.
The Symposium will provide input to the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on 1-12 November 2021 which will bring together Heads of State, climate experts, campaigners and stakeholders from around the world to agree on coordinated action to tackle climate change.
This symposium is an opportunity for the international research community to come together once again and discuss cutting-edge SDG and climate research.
