The Research and Transfer Centre “Sustainability and Climate Change Management” (FTZ-NK) of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences is organizing the 7^th Online Climate Change Conference CLIMATE2020 focusing on “Integrating Mitigation & Adaptation Initiatives for a Better Management of Climate Change and its Impacts” with the objective to convey recent research results as well as to provide especially early career researchers from all over the world with the opportunity to present their findings at a global level.

• The worldwide virtual conference will take place from 23^th 2020 to 30^th March 2020 exclusively on the internet, in a climate-friendly manner.
• The Online Conference provides the participants with free unlimited access to high-quality scientific articles, climate projects and further learning opportunities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• CLIMATE 2020 offers a unique opportunity to enhance an international dialogue and ideas exchanges between experts from the academic, political, economic and social sectors and the rest of the community.
• The virtual conference is guided by and will contribute to the Sustainable Development goal 13 (Climate Action). In addition, it fosters the current debate on securing biodiversity by providing insights on climate change and biodiversity.
• Open Access/ OER: CLIMATE 2020 supports the global shift towards making research findings available free of charge for readers, to support worldwide knowledge sharing, and thus promoting innovation and climate action.

CLIMATE2020 Online Conference: Call for Concise papers

Themes: Scientific contributions will be grouped together in six major categories. They should meet the particular requirements of the global sustainable development goal SDG 13 (Climate Action), and document progress achieved to date. Key themes are:

• Resilience & Capacity Building – how to strengthen resilience and adaptive capacities to counteract climate-related hazards and the natural disasters of today and tomorrow;
• Intelligent Climate Policy & Governance – how to integrate the measures for mitigation and adaptation to the impacts of climate change into national policy, strategies and planning processes;
• Education, Awareness and Adaptation – how to facilitate educational programmes, raise awareness and foster the adaptive capacities of people and institutions in order to tackle climate change and reduce CO2 emissions;
• Climate Finance & Access to Funding – how to finance initiatives on adaptation to climate change and prevention of CO2 emissions in a credible and sustainable manner, and the role of global funding mechanisms (e.g. Green Climate Fund)
• Intelligent Climate Planning, Small Islands and Developing Countries – mechanisms, fostering the  capacity building for more effective climate-related planning and climate change management in developing countries as well as small island developing states, including support of women, young people and marginalized population groups.
• Special section: Climate Change as a Threats to Biodiversity – evidence of negative impacts of climate change on biodiversity and related ecosystems, including negative consequences for human well-being
