Celebrating the impact of the Transformations to Sustainability programme
The team at the ISC are sad to announce, on behalf of its NORFACE and Belmont Forum partners, that this is the last scheduled newsletter of the Transformations to Sustainability programme, which formally ended in December 2022.
We are very proud of the work done by the projects over the past four years, under truly exceptional circumstances. Some of the difference they have made in the world is documented in twelve 'impact stories' just published on our mini-website, which also hosts the seven films produced earlier in 2022. Please help us share these stories and films.

Climate observers meet to analyse data in Nicaragua
Between October and November 2022, the network of climate monitors accompanied by Nitlapan in the framework of the TRUEPATH project in Nicaragua held meetings at each of the weather stations, inviting nearby producers to analyse the data collected. In 2022 there were moments of intense rainfall in some sites, high humidity, and variation in temperature and winds, and weather observation allowed the community to have an early warning system and to make decisions in the face of meteorological events such as hurricanes.

Seeking expressions of interest for TD 'train the trainer' workshop at Sustainability Research + Innovation 2023 (SRI '23) in Panama!
Are you interested in developing your skills as a transdisciplinary research trainer? If you are, and you are also:
- Familiar with the basics of transdisciplinary research either as the lead or key participant in several projects; or
- A "boundary spanner", someone who has worked with academic researchers and societal actors on sustainability projects; or
- A faculty member who has taught courses on transdisciplinary research,
this training event is for you!
Note, this is not a transdisciplinary (TD) research training but rather a how-to session for those familiar with TD, who would like to help train others in TD skills. Doing so helps expand the number of scholars who work in this way. As such it will help normalize TD practice, expand the network of TD researchers and trainers, and further build the TD field. The training is free, but participants must be registered for SRI '23 to be eligible. Participation is by application and we will select no more than 15 participants for this in-person train-the-trainer experience. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please contact Margaret Krebs. More information about the workshop and application materials will be supplied.
