SOLSTICE is a joint transnational call for funding proposals, which invites the Social Sciences and Humanities to take the lead and submit proposals that address the societal impact of climate change.
Transformational change requires innovative approaches and novel interdisciplinary collaboration. The call encourages inclusion of those who are not traditional participants in climate change research, as well as outreach to non-scientific societal actors. Building on emerging trends of research, proposals should address one or more of the following topics:
- Social justice and participation
- Sense making, cultural meaning and risk perception
- Transformative finance and economy
Proposals are now being accepted until the 3rd of February 2020, but the project outline section of the application must be submitted by 9 January 2020.
SOLSTICE is launched by the Joint Programming Initiative “Connecting Climate Knowledge for Europe” (JPI Climate) is a pan-European intergovernmental initiative gathering European countries to jointly coordinate climate research and fund new transnational research initiatives that provide useful climate knowledge and services for post-COP21 Climate Action.
